Setting your Freelance Writing Rates

Imagine this … will charge customers $ 3 per item, and you decide that you are new to the game, and you think you should start slow and build up. A few days later, after writing perhaps five items for a customer, increase its prices $ 5 per item. Sounds fair, right? Now imagine after a month they double to $ 10. Suddenly, you feel like you're making a fortune.

But please, listen carefully. You could have started by charging $ 10 per article or even $ 15 per item! You could be thinking that sounds expensive, but for a freelance writer with good style, correct discipilne, good marketing techniques, ie a low rate. Ever wondered how much a freelance writer for a large company like Apple does? Probably more than $ 10 an item!

And yet more … much more, because the secret to the success of a great editor of compensation is not one or two large customers. Professional freelance writers can be paid $ 300 to write a half page ad and up to $ 1,000 for a full page ad! 1) Have someone read your "better job."

Ask what they think, and what you would pay for him if he had a budget, say, $ 10,000 for writing marketing materials. This will give you an idea of what the customer can afford. Listen: get someone who knows a little something about marketing!

2) Time to write yourself.

If you regularly write for your own personal blog or even write messages in the forums extended, time yourself and see how long it takes to write an article. If you have not written any particular places, get a new practice and asked time for your body. The longer it takes, the longer the response time will be. This will have a negative effect on your price.

3) Consider the cost of living

Consider how much money you need to keep yourself – plus animation. After all, you are writing to make money you can use to live! On the other hand, be sure to be realistic. Do not start to set goals for an Audi yet.

These three simple tasks will the perspective of the amount to charge customers per item. Also keep in mind what kind of areas that will be writing for, and what written to be doing. These play an important role in pricing also. Ultimately it is your choice as to the amount it charges its customers, but bearing in mind the idea of valuing itself properly and capacity for your needs is what will keep you in business.
